Ryan Ollivier

    Background

    • Ryan is a principal consultant at The Cadence Group in the Financial Reporting and Technical Accounting Practice. Ryan also is extensively involved win streamlining business processes. Specifically, Ryan's expertise lies in streamlining business processes, evaluating and concluding on technical accounting issues, assessing the strength of companies through financial due diligence, and helping clients prepare for financial audits. Ryan has over 13 years of experience and has accumulated extensive experience across multiple industries with an emphasis on manufacturing.

    • Prior to joining The Cadence Group Ryan worked with PricewaterhouseCoopers for over five years, primarily in their Assurance and Business Advisory practice in San Jose, CA. In addition to working for three years in the San Jose, CA office, he also completed a two-year international rotation in Bern, Switzerland. In Switzerland, Ryan was the local office U.S. GAAP technical expert, which involved researching and then conducting multiple trainings for PwC management relating to new pronouncements. Ryan also worked directly with clients with their adoption of new guidance from the FASB and assisted clients in performing reconciliation between IFRS financial statements and U.S. GAAP.

    • Ryan also headed a number of Sarbanes-Oxley readiness projects for a Foreign Private Issuer, which included helping to document and assess the companies internal control structure.

    • Ryan is a certified public accountant (CPA) and member of the AICPA, IIA and ACFE.

     Experience

    • Provided clients with technical guidance in the areas of variable interest entities, revenue recognition, purchase accounting, asset impairments, internally developed software and other technical accounting pronouncements.

    • Developed, managed and executed numerous internal audit projects for clients to help identify and mitigate risks and improve processes.

    • Provided technical expertise to help prepare private companies for a U.S. GAAP audit, including drafting and implementing significant accounting policies and procedures.

    • Led multiple business process re-engineering projects including streamlining the month-end close process at both private and public companies.

    • Served as the Controller/Project Manager of a large SAP implementation including ensuring project stayed within budget and was accounted for according to U.S. GAAP.

    • Performed Financial Due Diligence for an acquirer to ensure potential target's revenue recognition procedures were in accordance with U.S. GAAP

    • Developed control documentation (including narratives, flowcharts and control matrices), designed tests to assess the operating effectiveness, and executed these test for identified key controls on behalf of management for several public companies.

     Education
